## Overview Vantage ("we," "our," or "us") is a photography location scouting app. This Privacy Policy explains what information we collect when you use the Vantage app and website (vantagephotoapp.com), how we use it, and your rights regarding that information. By using Vantage, you agree to this policy. If you do not agree, please do not use the app or website. --- ## Information We Collect ### Information you provide directly - **Account information** — your email address and password when you register - **Profile information** — display name, username, bio, profile photo, location (city/region), photographer type, and gear list - **Content you post** — photos, scout reports, reviews, and comments you submit within the app - **Location spots** — names, coordinates, tags, and visibility settings for spots you add to the map ### Information collected automatically - **Location data** — with your permission, we access your device's GPS location to center the map and show nearby spots. We do not store your precise location history on our servers. - **Usage data** — which screens you visit, which spots you view, and basic interaction patterns, used to improve the app. This is not sold to advertisers. - **Device information** — device type, iOS version, and app version for crash reporting and compatibility. ### Information from third parties - **Supabase** — we use Supabase as our backend database and authentication provider. Mapbox may collect anonymized map interaction data. This includes: - Your username, display name, profile photo, and bio - Public photo spots you've added - Scout reports and reviews you've written - Photos you've posted to the feed **Private spots** you create are only ever visible to you. --- ## Data Retention We retain your information for as long as your account is active. If you delete your account, we will delete or anonymize your personal data within 30 days, except where we are required to retain it for legal reasons. If you believe a child under 13 has provided us with personal information, please contact us and we will delete it. --- ## Location Permissions Vantage requests access to your device location to: - Center the map on your current position - Find photo spots near you Location access is optional — you can use the app with manual map navigation if you prefer not to grant location permission. You can revoke location permission at any time in your iPhone's Settings. --- ## Security We use industry-standard security measures including encrypted data transmission (HTTPS/TLS) and secure credential storage via Supabase Auth. No method of transmission over the internet is 100% secure, and we cannot guarantee absolute security. --- ## Changes to This Policy We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. We will notify you of material changes by posting the updated policy on this page with a new "last updated" date.
